Entries and contact information can be submitted electronically at www.hearst8x10.com/enter. Only digital entries will be accepted. Prints, transparencies, slides or other materials will not be considered. Hearst Corporation will not return such materials to the applicant.
IMPORTANT NOTETo ensure a fair and unbiased selection, entries will remain anonymous. Submissions that contain a photographer’s name and/or contact information within the file name, caption field or metadata will be disqualified.
NOTIFICATIONWinners will be notified in writing on August 2, 2010, with the winning images revealed at a reception at Hearst Tower in January 2011 to mark the opening of the "Hearst 8x10 Photography Biennial" exhibit. There is no cash value to the prize.
- Hearst Corporation reserves the right to solicit applications. All solicited applications will be eligible provided that the applicant adheres to the submission guidelines.
- Any digital photos that contain information about the applicant, including name or contact information, will be disqualified from consideration. All file names, caption fields and metadata should be free of this information.
- All entries will be reviewed to ensure they adhere to the submission guidelines. Those that do not meet all of the submission guidelines will be disqualified.
- Non-electronic or digital submissions will not be returned to the applicant. Hearst Corporation is not responsible for the loss of or damage to submissions. Applicants may only submit one (1) entry, which may include up to 16 photographs. Each image must be in JPG format and less than 3MB.
- A Hearst Corporation staff member or member of the judging committee may contact applicants as necessary regarding winning submissions.
- Hearst Corporation reserves the right to use the award recipient’s name, likeness, biographical information and project images in perpetuity for publicity and promotional materials related to the Hearst 8x10 Photography Biennial and Hearst Corporation.
